Friendly Reminder
shru on November 12th, 2007, @ 4:40 pm
Absolutely nothing is wrong with the site, especially the forum. Have a nice day.

Whoops, right after I said that I went to the forum and discovered that everything was all messed up, what are the chances? It's fixed now though. Apparently I broke everyone's avatars, but they're all fixed now.

NEAT NEW FEATURE: You can now add attachments to your forum posts, the attachment form is located in "Additional Options". Attachments are a convenient and fun way to add things like images to your posts! (You will need to preview your post in order to see this menu.)

Dynamic Soft Shadows.
shru on July 20th, 2007, @ 8:50 am
I added drop shadows to everything. It probably doesn't seem that noticeable now, but the site looks really plain without them.

Dandit Camp 2.0 Developement Screenshots
shru on July 19th, 2007, @ 9:48 am
I've added some official Dandit Camp 2.0 Developement Screenshots to the 'about' page. It's worth taking a quick look at if you are at all interested in seeing how DC 2.0 evolved through it's development.

I also put DC 1994 up there too. Definitely check that out if you haven't already.

Descending Private Messages
shru on May 16th, 2007, @ 6:46 pm
I made private messages descend by date, rather than ascend. This makes more sense imho.

OMFG! Where did my Epines go?!
shru on May 14th, 2007, @ 10:53 pm
You may or may not have noticed that I removed the post count and stars from the forum mini profiles. If you don't really care that I removed the post counts you can safely skip over this news post. But for the rest of you, I would just like the quickly explain why I did this.

It'll be better for the website as a whole, as it should eliminate some "garbage posts". I'm sure that many people, whether they are aware of it or not, have on occasion gotten to the end of a topic and forced themselves to post something just for the sake of increasing their post count. Taking the post count away encourages people to only post when they legitimately feel they have something interesting to say. Hopefully this will better the Signal:Noise ratio of the forums. (Which is probably ~1:8438389 right now)

And more importantly, removing the post count saves space, yay!

New Header
shru on April 16th, 2007, @ 3:47 pm
I'm updating the header, so there may be some minor layout issues for a little bit. Okay, it's more or less finished for now.
Also, hooray for slogans being back! I'd appreciate it if you went to this topic and suggested some new slogans for us.

I've made the flash list much more functional. It was coded pretty lazily before.

Awards
shru on March 4th, 2007, @ 4:36 pm
I've begun give awards to the flashes that receive the most views in various time periods. ( By begun I mean that I actually started giving out awards more than a month ago and was too lazy to draw pictures of trophies.)
Also: Minor news face lift.

Bigger Cookies
shru on February 28th, 2007, @ 10:09 pm
I've made it so that the main site remembers you for 90 days instead of just a week. Now you won't have to deal with logging in every 2 seconds.

Dymnamic Flash Resolution Changing
shru on January 24th, 2007, @ 1:26 pm
Hooray! I've finally added Dymnamic Flash Resolution Changing! Basically this means you can choose a resolution and flash animations will resize themselves so that they fit that resolution ( they'll keep their aspect ratio, don't worry.) To set your resolution, Start viewing a flash animation and click 'Change Flash Resolution'.

I'm sorry for taking so long to implement this. Especially since I originally envisioned the Stuff page as a Flash Portal that actually uses your monitor.

Important
shru on January 18th, 2007, @ 2:11 am
You will need to log into the forum once before you can log into the main site again.

The password hash algorithm has been changed, so in order for the main site to recognize that your new password hash is correct, it needs to be updated in the database. The only way to do this is to log into the forum.

Note: If you have no clue what I'm talking about in the above post, don't fret. Just log into the forum straight away and everything will work out. If you are already logged into the forum, log out and log in again.

Forum Upgrade
shru on January 17th, 2007, @ 11:21 pm
Alright, the forums have been updated. As far as I can tell, almost everything went smoothly. But they've changed the way they save avatars, so they won't work on the mainsite until I fix them. hopefully this will be done before you awake. The main site no longer works, I've try to have this fixed ASAP. Okay, everything is fine except for one thing, the avatars don't work on the main site. ( except Mike's for some reason) The avatars work now, Everything is back to normal.

I've also made the new avatar size limit to 120px by 120px. This should fix the scrollbar issue that people using monitors from 1998 suffered from. You should now safely be able to use a monitor from any time before 1994.

Worst. Thousandth. Post. Ever.
shru on January 16th, 2007, @ 12:40 am
Hooray! The oekaki boards have officially hit 1000 pictures! Unfortunately our 1000th post was made by Den in one minute. It's a proven fact that it takes Den approximately 5 times as long to draw a picture compared to the rest of us. So, if my calculations are correct, the picture Den drew would taken a normal member negative 12 seconds to draw. Great.

Click here to download a *.rar of the first 1000 pictures to be drawn on the oekaki boards. ( 21.1mb)

Publicity Stunts
shru on January 5th, 2007, @ 6:49 pm
Hey guys, I've thought of some cool ways you could help bring new members to the site!

  • Be HxC and scribe www.danditcamp.com onto bathroom walls.

  • Be even more HxC and carve www.danditcamp.com onto your wrist.

  • Go into your local walmart and write www.danditcamp.com on every etch-a-sketch you see.

  • Set up a chat macro that changes every instance of LOL your write into: LOL, speaking of funny, check out www.danditcamp.com for more laughs!

  • Go to a friends house. Ask to use their computer. Use notepad to open the file 'C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/DRIVERS/ETC/hosts'.

    Add the following to a new line: '127.0.0.1 a.com, b.com ... danditcamm.com danditcamo.com danditcamq.com danditcamr.com ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy.com zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.com'

Now the only site your friend can go to is danditcamp.com. He or She may be angry at first, but soon they'll discover that Dandit Camp is better than every single other website on the entire internet combined.

  • Tell your friend(s) about us.

Dandit Camp 2.0
shru on January 12th, 2007, @ 11:20 am
Well, Dandit Camp 2.0 is finally out, in all it's pseudo Web 2.0 glory. I'm sorry to say that Blogs didn't make the cut, but I'll be sure to add them in the near future.

Dandit Camp needs your help to survive! For the first time ever, it may be able to hold a guests interest for more than ten seconds, so tell all of your friends. Have you made any flash animations? Send them my way! Do you know anyone who has create flash animations? If so, send me your/their animations and permission to host them here. It doesn't matter how good or bad it is, Dandit Camp is a world without standards! Quantity over quality!
Two things you should know:

  • The Oekaki boards uses a separate account than the rest of the website. It would've been far too much work to integrate 2 already made systems together. So hopefully you can survive the pain of having to spend 30 seconds making another account.

  • However, The mainsite and forums do use the same account.
